The patented Dedalo^® seal achieves fluid containment by means of a series of specially designed high-pressure rings. The fluid flow is progressively laminated from liquid end (high pressure) to crank end (atmospheric pressure), with each high-pressure ring allowing a local pressure drop.

A negligible amount of process fluid flowing through the seal is collected after the last high-pressure ring and returned to the pump suction line.
